The holiday season is a fantastic time to visit Atlantis Bahamas as many families flock to the Bahamas to escape the winter weather at home. There’s plenty to do at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort, topped off with a series of holiday events sure to give everyone a vacation to remember!
Weather at Atlantis Bahamas in the Holiday Season
Whilst temperatures drop in the U.S. and Canada, the Bahamas typically enjoys the best weather of the year in the winter months. The peak weather season runs from December through to April, with clear blue skies and day time temperatures around high 70s or low 80s during this time. As temperatures plunge towards freezing at home, it’s easy to see the attraction of lying on a beach at the Atlantis Bahamas resort. Many people will take advantage of the time off work afforded by the holiday season to travel to the Bahamas for some winter sun.

Events at Atlantis During the Holiday Season
Atlantis marks the holiday season with some events that are not to be missed, like concerts from leading musicians, and local cultural celebrations. If you’re heading to Atlantis over the holidays, be sure not to miss out on these events:
Battle 4 Atlantis Basketball Tournament
Atlantis kicks off the holiday season each year by hosting this NCAA D1 Basketball tournament over Thanksgiving week. This year, the tournament will see perennial basketball powerhouses like UNC, Michigan, and Gonzaga battling it out. The arena is right on the resort, as a ballroom is transformed into a basketball arena for the week. Teams battle it out over three days to determine who will win the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Junkanoo Festival
If you’re in Atlantis over the holidays, make sure you don’t miss the Junkanoo Parades. Rival groups spend months making costumes and parade through the streets performing traditional Bahamian music and dances in an attempt to out-do each other. The main event takes place on Dec 26, from 2am – 10am. Nassau comes alive as revelers and tourists mingle in the streets through the night, with many restaurants and bars staying open for the parade. You can watch for free from the streets just across the bridge from the Atlantis Bahamas Resort, or buy tickets for the bleachers in the main judging area at Rawson Square. There’s a second parade held on New Year’s Day.
If you’re not at Atlantis on these dates, fear not! Smaller Junkanoo Parades are held in the Marina Village each Saturday evening, usually around 9pm.
New Years Concerts
This year will see the Atlantis Resort host two concerts with a star-studded list of talent coming to the Bahamas.
First, on December 30, the Jonas Brothers play Atlantis. One of the world’s most famous pop groups, the Jonas Brothers just released a new album, and are in the middle of a World Tour that will see them return to the Atlantis Resort for the first time in 10 years. Tickets are pricy, starting at $249, but we’re sure seeing the Jonas Brothers in the Bahamas will be an unforgettable experience.
The following evening, December 31, Atlantis hosts a lavish New Year’s Party with performances from Bebe Rexha and Lindsey Stirling. There’s also DJ’s and a performance from the Royal Bahamas Police Force Marching Band. Again, at $300, tickets for this event are not cheap. You may want to consider heading to the Marina Village, where a majestic (and free) firework display marks the start of the New Year.
There’s no better time to visit Atlantis than during the holiday season, with a series of amazing events showcasing Bahamian culture as well as international superstars.
